George Bilicic '85, vice chairman of investment banking at Lazard, Ltd., was the guest at the third annual Division of Business’ Executive Forum series, on February 24, in the Gambet Center for Business and Healthcare’s Barbara Walker Breslin Auditorium.

Bilicic, the first DeSales alumnus to serve as the featured executive in the series, heads Lazar’s Midwest investment banking business and global efforts in power, energy and infrastructure. In addition, he serves as a member of the Firm’s Investment Banking Committee and Deputy Chairman Committee.

Previously Bilicic had been a partner in the law firm of Cravath, Swaine & Moore and a managing director in the Mergers and Acquisitions Department at Merrill Lynch. In addition to his DeSales degree in politics, he earned his J.D. degree from the Georgetown University Law Center

DeSales business and finance students were invited to attend, which featured a conversation segment between Dr. Jeffrey Focht, assistant professor of business, and Bilicic, as well as student question and answer and informal mingling time-allotments.

The series is designed as an opportunity to spotlight exemplary business leaders to provide students with a concrete model of success to follow outside of classroom learning. Previous speakers have been David DeCampli, chief transition officer of PP&L Corporation, and Caroll Neubauer, chairman and CEO of B. Braun of America and B. Braun Medical, Inc.
