The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at DeSales University will offer weekly physical therapy appointments in its newly renovated Research & Rehabilitation Lab in Chappuis Hall on the Center Valley Campus from March 17, 2016, through May 5, 2016.
Treatments will be provided free of charge by second year DPT students under the direct supervision of state licensed physical therapy faculty members.
The program seeks adult volunteer clients to participate in the clinic who are experiencing activity limitations due to neurologic health conditions, including, but not limited to, stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury and multiple sclerosis.
“We hope to serve those who still require treatment, but have no insurance benefits, cannot afford physical therapy co-payments, or have reached the cap on the number of treatment visits permitted by their insurance carrier,” said Dr. Kay Malek, director of the DeSales physical therapy program.
Appointments will be scheduled between 10:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on clinic days and preregistration is required. For additional information or to register for an appointment, contact Heidi Troxell by phone at 610.282.1100, extension 1898 or via e-mail at Heidi.Troxell@desales.edu.
